About
This website mixes self-expression and professional interest. I currently work as a Senior Research Scientist in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence in Austin, TX, USA.
I earned my Ph.D. in Neuroscience in 2018 by recording from neurons in the brain, building mathematical models of neurons with differential equations, and studying sensory systems, mostly hearing. Sound and electrophysiology fostered my love for time series analysis, digital signal processing, and information processing systems more generally. I learned to code and fell in love with math, and its ability to describe, reveal, and predict.
At the same time I taught college students about brains, behavior, and perception for many years between experiments. Before that I studied psychology and psychometrics.
I love learning, diving deep, and reorganizing information in ways that help me understand.
